Rothay Garden Wins National Training Award - 05/02/2010

The winners of the 2010 national HRS Excellence Awards were revealed at a special ceremony in central London last week - and Grasmere's Rothay Garden hotel was the proud winner of one of the most important awards of the year - the "Excellence through People" training and development award.

Hotel professionals and businesses from around the country gathered for a Gala Luncheon at Altitude, one of London's newest destination venues, to hear the winners announced by tv presenter and travel editor Simon Calder.  The prizes recognised excellence in business across all categories of hotel management, and each category winner received a specially designed cut-glass award.

The Excellence through People Award (Small Hotel category) is given to "a hotel business which can demonstrate best how creative recruitment, employment and training practices help to attract, inspire, motivate, develop and retain enthusiastic and talented people".
