Walking Holidays - available year-round
The Lake District is arguably the best destination in England for a walking break. A short break or longer holiday really does give walkers an invigorating package of great walking, unrivalled scenery and gourmet food. The lakes of Grasmere and Rydal Water provide a great backdrop for less strenuous walks, including the famous "Coffin Trails", a series of trails running between local villages which were once used by locals to take their family and friends to their final resting place!
Guests at Rothay Garden usually prefer to keep their walking plans informal rather than packaged around a set itinerary. Nevertheless, around the area there are walks for all tastes - including many which offer superb views across the Central Lakes to Windermere and beyond - and our team at Reception will be happy to advise and recommend the best walks for you.
"For a special treat, I really couldn’t recommend this place highly enough … The staff are very friendly, the service is excellent, the rooms are lovely, and the food is divine... I don’t think I could find fault with the hotel and would certainly return."
