In addition to this there are an array of attractions to visit including historic houses and gardens, castles and leisurely lake cruises, homes of famous literary figures such as Beatrix Potter's Hilltop, John Ruskin's Brantwood on Coniston Water which was home of the art critic, writer and philosopher, and of course William Wordsworth's homes can all be visited: Wordsworth House, Dove Cottage and Rydal Mount.
