OUR LOCATION - GRASMERE: THE LAKE DISTRICT
Grasmere is both the geographical and cultural centre of the Lake District. This delightful village has withstood the changing times and still personifies charm and "olde worlde" English Heritage. The home of William Wordsworth for many years, his home is now open to the public and includes a fascinating museum.

The village also offers a variety of galleries, outdoor pursuits shops, Sarah Nelson's famous Grasmere Ginger Bread and much more !

There is much to see and do around the village with so many famous and picturesque walks which encircle the vale of Grasmere. The area is a veritable paradise for experienced as well as novice walkers! Loughrigg Terrace, Easedale Tarn, Alcock Tarn, Helm Crag and the Coffin Trail are just a few of the better known shorter routes. Major climbs such as Helvellyn, Langdale Pikes, Fairfield Horsehoe and High Street are accessible without using your car and famous peaks such as Coniston Old Man & Skiddaw are just a short drive away.

Grasmere is ideally located within the Lake District so that every valley may be explored, with just a short journey from Rothay Garden.
